CARY POLICE CHARGE JAILED SUSPECT WHO TRIED TO SOLICIT THE MURDER OF WIFE AND STEPDAUGHTER

 

CARY, NC – Cary Police have charged a man being held in the Wake County Public Safety Center with two additional charges after he attempted to solicit the murder of his wife and stepdaughter; Eric Lee Coker, 33, formerly of 209 Wintermist Drive in Cary was charged today with two counts of solicitation to commit a felony homicide.

 

“We’re glad that we can help bring a feeling of security to the victims in this case,” said Captain Dave Wulff.

 

On March 10, 2006 , Coker was arrested and charged with one count of statutory rape for allegedly raping his juvenile stepdaughter – the same victim he is accused of soliciting to be murdered.  Statutory rape carries a maximum of 12-40 years in prison.  

 

Coker remains in the Wake County facility, and his bond has increased from $1 million for the statutory rape charge to $3 million for all three charges.
