CHRISTINE KANE TO SING FOLK SONGS TO FOLKS AT CARY’S BOND PARK

CARY , NC A North Carolina “born-and-bred” artist is making her way to Cary to sing her stories at Cary ’s Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park, 801 High House Road ; Christine Kane, a North Carolina native, will entertain the Triangle with her award-winning folk tunes on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 3 p.m.  The free concert marks the third performance in the Town’s Fall Sertoma Series.

Her popular live performances take on a "one-woman-show" quality as she brilliantly weaves a comedic thread throughout her stories and anecdotes, while conveying a sense of magic and encouragement with her songs and voice.

“We look forward to welcoming Christine to our community,” said Performing Arts Coordinator Sarah Bunch.  “The audience is sure to enjoy her modern style of folk music.”

Born in Asheville , Kane has successfully circuited the national music industry for more than 12 years.  Two of her songs have been recorded by national artist Kathy Mattea and Nashville Star finalist Casey Simpson.  Most recently, the N.C. Dance Theatre’s ballet choreographed several of their shows to Kane’s songs. In 2003, Borders Books and Music chose her album, Rain & Mud & Wild & Green, as the Best of 2003 in the folk category.

Each year, the Fall Sertoma Concert Series features the best in free, live, outdoor entertainment.  Guests are invited to return to Sertoma for the following remaining Fall Concert Series performances – Grey Seal Puppets and Shadow Players, Sunday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m. and Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble, Saturday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m.
