FROMMER’S NAMEs CARY best of the best among places to raise a family in 2006

 

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary is once again making headlines, now that Frommer’s has designated Cary “A Top 10 Place to Raise Your Family in 2006,” coming in as the seventh best place in the country.  Cary , the only city selected in North Carolina , was chosen for the award based on essential factors, including affordability, education, health and safety, standard of living, lifestyle, and family population profile.      

 

“This is a tremendous award, given how well respected Frommer’s is as a company that knows great places throughout the world,” said Cary Mayor Ernie McAlister.  “We’re honored to receive this recognition and will continue to raise the bar for outstanding quality of life in Cary .”

 

As part of the award, the Town received a plaque that will be displayed in Town Hall.  The Town’s profile is also highlighted in the first edition of Best Places to Raise Your Family: The Top 100 Affordable Communities in the U.S., a comprehensive book that provides savvy insights into the top affordable communities to live and raise kids in the country; the book is available at www.frommers.com.

 

The complete list of top ten cities include: Louisville, CO, as the top city followed by; Gaithersburg, MD; Roswell, GA; Lakeville, MN; Flower Mound, TX; Fort Collins, CO; Cary; Sugar Land, TX; Columbia, MD, and Noblesville, IN.

 

The award adds to Cary ’s growing list of accolades, including being named one of the three "Hottest Towns in America " by Money Magazine in January 2004.  For the seventh year in a row, Cary was in the top ten safest cities in the country by Morgan Quitno Press.
