The Pink Panther Strikes Again! in Cary

 

CARY , NC The Pink Panther is ready to solve his most dangerous case beginning this weekend, when Applause! Cary Youth Theatre presents its spring production, The Pink Panther Strikes Again!, at the Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park, 801 High House Road in Cary .  Shows will be held Friday-Saturday, May 5-6 and May 12-13 beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly.  Tickets are $10 (adults), $8 (students), and $5 (children 5 and under); tickets are available at the Herbert C. Young Community Center , 120 Wilkinson Ave. or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or at (919) 834-4000. 

 

“We’re looking forward to another stupendous production,” said Rachel Green, Cary ’s Youth Theatre Coordinator.  “Each year, these shows give our young performers the opportunity to develop their skills and interests while helping build their confidence.”  Green added that performers, designers and stagehands ages 10-18 will showcase their talents as part of the show.

 

Based on the film by Blake Edwards and Frank Waldman, the play presents Jacques Clouseau, the world’s most unusual criminologist, as he fumbles his way through the most dangerous case of his successful, yet clumsy career.

 

Applause! Cary Youth Theatre offers classes, workshops and performing opportunities designed to welcome young people to the world of theatre as well as allow those with more experience to develop their skills in a process-oriented environment.  Applause! programs are staffed with theatre professionals committed to encourage creativity, confidence and an appreciation of the theatre in youth.

 

This spring production is one of two annual performance opportunities offered by Applause!Applause! will open its eighth production in fall 2007.
