TINSEL TOWN RETURNS TO KOKA BOOTH AMPHITHEATRE
THIS HOLIDAY SEASON WITH A NEW "SPIN"!

Cary, NC – Tinsel Town, the Triangle’s premier hometown holiday event returns to Cary’s Booth Amphitheatre with a new "spin", a real outdoor ice-skating rink! For those that long for the chilly afternoons in the Northeast or Midwest skating on a frozen pond or simply want to introduce your children to a fun new activity then Tinsel Town is for you!
From now through December 31, Booth Amphitheatre will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland complete with beautifully decorated trees by area civic organizations and a skating rink in the middle adjacent to Symphony Lake. While the event will be open daily for skating, weekends will include lots of additional activities and entertainment such as area choruses and music, visits with Santa, an enchanted Gingerbread House for children as well as craft and gift vendors so visitors can do a little holiday shopping.
Booth Amphitheatre officials said the decision to bring Tinsel Town back after a hiatus in 2005 in order to complete some venue improvements was simple after securing the company to add the ice skating rink. "There’s nothing around for miles that even compares to an experience like this one", says Booth Amphitheatre General Manager Becky Schmidt. "We’ve always taken great pride in the fact that Booth Amphitheatre is second to none in the region as far as setting and what better way to show the versatility of this venue and continue to enjoy it during the winter months than by allowing families to skate on an authentic outdoor ice rink!"
Tinsel Town will be open daily, weather pending. Hours of operation are as follows: November 22 – December 31. Monday – Thursday, 4 – 9 p.m., Friday, 4 – 10 p.m., Saturday, 2 – 10 p.m. and Sunday, Noon – 6 p.m.
