FUNNY MOVES AT PAGE-WALKER ARTS & HISTORY CENTER THIS WEEKEND

 

CARY , NC Whether you’re on the first, second or third floor, you’re sure to find the perfect comedy zone when the Cary Players present “Acting Up!…and Down”, September 15-17, 2006 at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center , 119 Ambassador Loop.  Shows begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 6 p.m. on Sunday.  Advance tickets are available for $15 Monday-Friday, noon-6 p.m., at the Herb Young Community Center or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or (919) 834-4000; tickets may also be purchased at the door.

 

Four delightfully funny one-act plays will be performed in pairs on the first and third floors, including: “Blind Date” by Horton Foote; “The Still Alarm” by George S. Kaufman; “The Love Course” by A.R. Gurney; and “Flattering Word” by George Kelly.  During intermission, guests can treat their funny bones to dessert, coffee and music on the second floor before switching floors to watch the next pair of plays.

 

“This show is a great opportunity to break away from the ordinary and enjoy live, comical entertainment,” said Performing Arts Coordinator Sarah Bunch.  Bunch added that the event is open to all ages but would be most enjoyed by those 13 and older.

 

The purpose of Cary Players is to provide the citizens of Cary and surrounding areas with the means to develop, enhance and showcase their theatrical talents.  Also, the group helps enrich and enlighten social and cultural experiences through a diverse offering of excellent theatrical productions.
