Following the tip, Cary Police Investigative Division worked to obtain a search warrant.  Through a search of the residence, Police recovered stolen items that were taken from businesses in Apex, Cary , Clayton, Fuquay-Varina, Raleigh , Wake Forest , Wendell, and Youngsville.

“We appreciate the combined efforts of the media, Crime Stoppers, and area police departments in identifying the suspect,” said Captain Dave Wulff.  “Thanks to the media’s work in notifying the community, Crime Stoppers further assisted us in bringing the suspect to justice.  Raleigh and Apex police departments were also supportive in executing the warrant.”

Armitage had been arrested for a burglary in Henderson prior to the search warrant and is currently being held in the Vance County Jail.

One count of felonious breaking and entering carries a penalty of four to 25 months in prison.  Additional charges are pending.

The Town has had more than 20 burglaries since November.  The most recent burglaries occurred at J&F Gemelli Hair Salon, B Roman Skin & Body Therapy and Java Jive, all located at 2425 Kildaire Farm Road on Friday, December 23, during which the suspect(s) stole money. To deter criminals, police suggest keeping all entrances well-lit, especially front entrances.    Also, business owners should avoid keeping cash on premises after business hours, if possible.  Finally, it’s always a good idea to make sure that all property is properly secured.

Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for additional information related to this crime.  If you have information, contact Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E), or contact Capt. Dave Wulff at (919) 469-4017.  All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at caller's request.
