SUSPECTS SOUGHT IN STRING OF CARY BURGLARIES

CARY, NC – Cary Police are asking for your help in apprehending two people who may be connected to more than a dozen thefts that have occurred in the past month in Cary.  One of the most recent burglaries occurred at Woody's Sports Tavern & Grill on 8322 Chapel Hill Rd. on Tuesday, November 22 at 1 a.m. , in which two suspects stole a 200-pound safe containing an undisclosed amount of money.  One suspect is shown in this store surveillance video; the second suspect appears here.

The suspects appear to be white males between the ages of 20 and 29, about 6 feet tall with slim builds.  According to the videos, they were wearing ball caps, black sweatshirts and blue jeans.

The suspects are believed to have burglarized at least 12 other Cary businesses, including Dollar General, Brooklyn Boy’s Pizzeria, Book Smart, Womack Electric Supply Company, Cookies in Bloom, Grace by Consignment, Cary General, Harmony Mediterranean Market, Vertical Urge, Flame Kissed Beads, Gymboree, and Maximillian’s Grill & Wine Bar.  In each of the burglaries, the thieves have used a rock-like object to break out the front door and enter the business.  The suspects have stolen cash, hardware, cookies and jewelry.

To deter criminals, police suggest keeping all entrances well-lit, especially front entrances.    Also, business owners should avoid keeping cash on premises after business hours, if possible.  Finally, it’s always a good idea to make sure that all property is properly secured.

Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of person(s) involved with this crime should it prove to be a homicide.  If you have information, contact Crime Stoppers at 226-CRIM(E), or contact Lt. Tony Godwin at (919) 462-3812.  All calls will be kept CONFIDENTIAL at caller's request.
