affordable housing fair to offer cary citizens

valuable homebuying options

Rep. David Price and Mayor Ernie McAlister to Welcome Fair Attendees

CARY, NC – The cost is free, the options are affordable and the benefits are priceless for future homebuyers who plan to attend the Fifth Annual Affordable Housing Fair on Saturday, October 22 in Cary.  U.S. Rep. David Price of the fourth congressional district will join Town of Cary Mayor Ernie McAlister in welcoming fair attendees to the event that runs from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Cary Senior Center at Bond Park.

"Increasing numbers of North Carolinians spend far too much of their income on housing.  We must find a way to ease that burden for families in the Triangle and beyond," said Price. "I'm pleased that the town of Cary is taking yet another proactive step toward increasing people's awareness of homeownership and affordable rental housing opportunities."

“The Town of Cary is strongly committed to doing our part to help our citizens find a safe, healthy and attractive place to live," said McAlister.

First-time home buyers, families looking for affordable apartments, seniors and persons with disabilities will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with representatives from government agencies supporting affordable purchases and rental housing.  In addition, developers, financing organizations and non-profit groups who provide services for people looking for affordable housing will be available to speak with future home buyers.

“We are pleased to offer this unique opportunity to join together Cary citizens and agencies that promote home ownership,” said Community Development Planner Greg Barnes.

The event is free and open to the public.  The grand sponsors of the fair are Wachovia and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

Cary Senior Center is located at 120 Maury O’Dell Place in Cary at Bond Park on High House Road.
