The Genealogy Forum is a monthly, Thursday night meeting for people interested in genealogy. Open to all members of the community. Members of the group lead topics and discussions.

Jan 14-15 - Laser Tag and Lock-in for FUN! (age Middle School – High School)
Another Friday night with nothing to do? Come and spend the night with us and bring your friends along! Join us for Laser tag, pizza, movies, a mystery treat and lots of fun to fill the night!!!! Minimum participants required – register early. Registration fee includes dinner, snacks, battle zone admission and transportation.

Jan 15 - Hoop Shoot (age 8-13)
Free throw contest, co-sponsored with the Cary-Apex Elks Lodge #2798, for boys and girls aged 8-13. Winners qualify for subsequent competitions leading to a national championship. National champions’ names enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Must show proof of age at time of registration.

Each year in January, we recognize and celebrate the life, work and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dreamfest 2005 is a series of events and activities planned as a means to educate, inspire and challenge us to create a welcoming, inclusive community that lives together in an atmosphere of cooperation, respect and understanding all year long. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Task Force presents this event with support from the Town of Cary.

On the 4th Saturday of each month watch your favorite movies with no parents, no brothers and sisters, and NO HIGH PRICES!! Bring a few extra dollars for movie style concessions. Bring your friends for a unique movie-watching experience.

Jan 23 - Triangle Sacred Harp Singers
Experience Shape Note music from the Original Sacred Harp! Shape Note music is a traditional and distinctive American form of unaccompanied singing. The Original Sacred Harp is one of the oldest Shape Note tune books. It has been in continual use since 1844. Shape Note music, recently featured in the film, Cold Mountain, is sung a cappella in an exuberant outpouring of sound and feeling.
