PLOWING UNDERWAY IN CARY

CARY, NC – On-call contractors have joined Town of Cary A-Teams that are now plowing thoroughfares, collectors streets, and even some primary roads in subdivisions.  Nearly 30 teams are working hard to push away the slush in hopes of minimizing icy trouble this evening.  A dozen crews are also continuing the sanding/salting regime.

Winter precipitation stopbped falling in downtown Cary late this morning.

ACCIDENTS

There have been seven storm-related traffic accidents in Cary since 7 a.m. today, none serious.

TREES

While downed trees are still no problem in Cary, officials remind citizens who discover them not to attempt to deal with trees on their own as downed trees may be tangled with nearby live power lines.  Instead, call the Town of Cary to report the problem.

COMMUNICATIONS

Please do not call 911 unless there is an emergency posing an immediate threat to life, health, or property.  Complete severe weather information is always available on the Town’s Web site, http://www.townofcary.org/.

The next winter weather update will be issued around 4 p.m. Sunday unless changing conditions warrant sooner action.
