Beginning Tuesday, May 7, Walnut Street traffic will be rerouted onto the newly-constructed roadway. Northbound traffic will be diverted off of the existing Holly Springs Road and onto the new section near the Colonial Baptist Church. Traffic ultimately heading for the Crossroads area, US1, and into Cary will stay on the new section, while traffic heading towards Raleigh and I-40 will take a right at the new signal at Tryon and new Walnut, then left at the existing Tryon and Walnut signal. The travel on Walnut will continue to be two lanes while construction of the connections to existing Holly Springs and Walnut Street are completed.
