CARY, NC –Cary Police are looking for your help in identifying a bag used in Tuesday’s robbery of the SouthTrust bank at 712 SE Maynard Road. The bag is about 15" tall, faded black, medium weight canvas with a drawstring top. Distinctive bands of colorful designs in pink, orange, white, and blue encircle the bag. The bag was abandoned after a red dye packet that was dropped into the bag with the money discharged. At 12:39 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, Cary Police received a 9-1-1 call from bank employees reporting that a man had just robbed the bank at gunpoint and left the scene in a white Honda, possibly 2-door. The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 5’6"-5’8", slim build, 150-170 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue or black ski mask with the eyes and mouth cut out, along with a dark sweatshirt jacket and dark pants. Cary Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and apprehension of the individual responsible for this crime.
