ARMED ROBBERS CHOOSE CASH OVER FOOD AT LOCAL GROCERY
CARY, NC – The Town of Cary’s Police Department is asking for your help
in apprehending suspects involved in yesterday’s early morning armed robbery
of the Lowes Food Store at 1741 Walnut Street near Buck Jones Road in Cary.
Around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, two men entered the business through an unlocked front door and confronted a clerk who was preparing the money for the day. The worker was forced to hand over the money from the upper, unlocked portion of the safe and to unlock the lower portion of the safe from which more money was taken. The suspects then made the clerk lie on the floor as they exited with an undetermined amount of money through the same front door they had entered. Fortunately, the pair was spotted leaving in a white Ford Contour with NC tag number NTY-6654.

This suspect also had a blue bandana covering his nose and mouth. He wore gloves and was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun. The second black male is smaller, 5’8"- 5’11" tall, about 160-170 wearing a dark Tee shirt and jogging pants, baseball cap, sunglasses, gloves and a blue bandana covering his nose and mouth.
