GLASGOW ROAD BRIDGE CLOSED

The NC Department of Transportation has notified the Town of Cary that the Glasgow Road bridge in MacGregor should be closed to all traffic. Detours have been set up to provide alternate access. The bridge will be closed until further notice, a minimum of several months, until repairs can be made.

NCDOT conducts biennial bridge inspections during which all bridges are inspected including about three dozen in the Town of Cary. Problems with this bridge were identified when this routine inspection revealed substantial and unexpected deterioration since the previous inspection two years ago.
