Nature Walks in Bond Park
Get to know the wildlife in your own backyard! Learn to identify the plant and animal life of Bond Park as it changes through the summer months. Discover how to identify local and migrant birds by sight and sound while exploring the park's many trails and observe how the creatures of the park survive in their habitats. Upcoming nature walks will take place on August 3, September 28, and October 19. Meet at the Bond Park Boathouse at 8:00 a.m. for a two-hour excursion. Participation fee is $4 for Cary residents and $5 for nonresidents, pre-registration is not required.

Hook, Line, and Sinker
Saturday, September 7, 2002
9 a.m. to noon (registration for the fishing tournament begins at 8 a.m.)
Discover the techniques of fresh water angling. You’ll learn the best baits to use and how to fish with them and a bit about safety and conservation. Get a look at some really nice fish "borrowed" from Bond Lake, and have a whale of a good time. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Bond Park Boathouse. Tackle and bait provided (while supplies last). This event is free and open to the public.
