April Events for Seniors in Cary
International Affairs Seminars
A series of discussions on international affairs and international relations! Soup and sandwiches will be served for lunch!
"Vietnam, US Prisoner of War"
One man’s story of seven and a half years as a prisoner of war.
William T. Tschundy was shot down over North Vietnam in 1965 while flying off
the USS Independence aircraft carrier. Bill will share how the POW’s
communicated with each other, as well as with loved ones in the U.S. Join us for
this fascinating story of courage, bravery and honor. Pre-registration is a
must!
Registration Deadline: April 16 Fee: $6 per person
Concerts on the Lawn
Friday, April 19, 3-5 p.m.
Graham Penny & the Penny Pickers; Old time, harmonizing music –
not really country, not really bluegrass – will entertain at the Cary Senior
Center. Bring your family and friends to relax and enjoy a concert on the lawn.
A variety of song and music will keep your toes tapping!
Light refreshments will be served. On the lawn or inside if raining.
Registration ends April 5. Fee: $5 (Free for ages 15 and under).
April Art Potluck Luncheon
"Taking the Mystery Out of Mysteries"
Tuesday, April 30, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Author Ellen Edwards Kennedy will join us for a humorous and informative
talk on writing and creativity. Ellen, author of "Irregardless of
Murder" is a former award-winning copywriter whose romance novella
"The Applesauce War" appeared in the Barbour Books anthology Harvest
Home. Bring a dish to share; drinks and paper products will be provided.
The Cary Senior Center is located at 120 Maurey Odell Place in Fred G. Bond
