PSA—CARY SIGN REGULATION REMINDER

The Town of Cary reminds residents and business owners that signs of all kinds are regulated within town and in the ETJ, including agriculture, business, construction/renovation, and political signs as well as For Sale, For Sale by Owner, Garage Sale, political, Yard Sale, For Rent and For Lease signs. In general, keep all private signs off of public property and out of public rights of way. Signs are strictly prohibited on light poles, trees, traffic signals, medians, street corners, intersections, and in ditches. Illegal signs, signs that are placed in prohibited areas, or signs that violate other Town laws may be removed by Town employees, and fines may be eventually assessed on sign owners. To get the most out of your sign, learn the rules before you produce or place it by downloading the Town’s sign code brochure under FAQ/INDEX at www.townofcary.org or call the Town’s Planning Department at 469-4082.
