CARY’S NEW RECLAIMED WATER SYSTEM RIBBON CUTTING TO BE HELD FRIDAY MORNING

The Town of Cary’s new reclaimed water system ribbon cutting will be held Friday, June 22 at 9:30 AM at the North Cary Park, 1100 Norwell Boulevard, Cary (off Cary Parkway between North Harrison and Evans Road). A short ceremony will include comments from dignitaries, new reclaimed water customers, and an explanation of the project from staff, followed by a symbolic "switching on" of the system using the park’s sprinkler system.

This "first in NC" reclaimed water system diverts the discharge of treated wastewater from the Neuse River Basin and, instead, pipes it to hundreds of business and residential water customers for irrigation and cooling uses. The project is designed to reduce the amount of wastewater going into streams and rivers while also reducing the amount of non-essential use of drinking water.
