LA THUNKUNA BRINGS BOLIVIAN CULTURE TO CARY

 

CARY, NC – Feel the rhythm of the drums and let your senses explore the riches of Bolivian culture through the magic of dance and percussion. La Thunkuna, a Bolivian dance and percussion ensemble, will present two interactive performances at Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park. The first performance will take place on Saturday, July 28 at 10:00AM, the second on Saturday, August 4, also at 10:00AM.

La Thunkuna’s interactive performances will include a percussion introduction and an explanation of who they are and where they come from, a period of creative activity involving the entire audience, and a jam session.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Tickets will be available at the gate or in advance from the Herbert C. Young Community Center, the Bond Park Community Center, Jordan Hall Arts Center, Page Walker Arts & History Center, the Cary Senior Center and the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources administration office.

In the event of rain, performances will be held at the Kiwanis Shelter adjacent to the Sertoma Amphitheatre.

Beginning fall 2001 Town of Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources will present a series of free concerts at Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park.
