THREE DAYS OF EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 4TH HOLIDAY

 

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary is offering a full menu of activities for the July 4th holiday. Music, sports, family fun and games, ice cream, and fireworks are all on the agenda July 3, 4, and 5.

Independence Eve Concert Featuring the Cary Town Band
Tuesday, July 3
7:00 pm, Sertoma Amphitheatre at Bond Park

What a great way to get "in the mood" for a terrific Independence Day holiday! Join the Cary Town Band as they perform the very best patriotic tunes in honor of the birthday of our nation. This rousing performance is guaranteed to make you want to get up and march! Admission is free. Call 469-4100 for more information.

Independence Day Olde Time Celebration
Wednesday, July 4
8:00 am - 3:00 pm, Bond Park Lakefront

(Registration begins at 7:30 for the fishing tournament.) Come join us for an old fashioned celebration of our nation’s birth. The day begins with a parent/child fishing tournament, followed by a whole host of games and competitions. Refreshments will be available at the Boathouse. Boats may be rented during the event. Sportsmanship Games
Wednesday, July 4
9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Bond Park Athletic Fields

Sportsmanship Games feature players, selected by their peers and coaches, that have shown a winning attitude during the playing season. These games focus on the Youth Sports Philosophy and seek to promote and reward sportsmanship in participants and coaches. All participants in the sportsmanship games receive an award for being selected. Throughout the day raffles will be held at each of the fields giving spectators the opportunity to be involved in the excitement. Area professional sports and other mascots will make visits to the fields. For more information, call 469-4062.

July 4th Celebration at Regency Park

Wednesday, July 4
5:00 pm, The Amphitheatre at Regency Park

Celebrate our nation’s birthday like never before in the spectacular new Amphitheatre at Regency Park. The Town’s celebration will be fun for the entire family. Start the evening with a performance by the Cary Town Band. Then enjoy an enchanting concert by the North Carolina Symphony. Finally, cap off your celebration with a spectacular fireworks display, the Triangle’s largest and most exciting celebration of the Fourth! Concessions will be available. Streets in the vicinity will be closed by 5:00 pm. Call 469-4061 for more information.

Ice Cream Social

Wind down from all the festivities with this annual event that is tasty and fun for all! Enjoy a favorite summer treat, ice cream sundaes, while being entertained by the wonderful day camp children! Special Guest, Congressman David Price. Hosted by the Cary Rotary Club. Registration deadline: June 28th! This event is open to Senior Citizens, age 55 & older. For more information, call 469-4081.
