CARY TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION SESSION
ON SCHEDULE FOR TODAYCARY, NC – Today’s public information exchange regarding the proposed Town of Cary Comprehensive Transportation Plan will be held as scheduled from 4-7:00 PM at the Page Walker Arts & History Center on Ambassador Loop Road beside Town Hall. Citizens are encouraged to come learn more about and comment on Cary’s long-term transportation needs, goals, and plans as well as the transportation planning process prior to the Town Council’s public hearing on the Plan, tentatively slated for Council’s regular meeting on February 22nd. From there, the Plan will go to the Town’s Planning and Zoning Board on March 19th and then back to Council on April 12th for a vote before being forwarded to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Today’s meeting begins the final chapter of what has been nearly two years of study and citizen input on Cary transportation-related issues for roadway, transit, bicycles and pedestrians. In addition to hiring a consultant and holding public input sessions, the Cary Town Council appointed a 14-member citizen committee that met for more than a year and offered recommendations about transportation.
