The Cary Police Department is participating in the NC Booze It and Lose It program June 29 through July 15, 2001. Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints throughout the Town during this period. The NC Booze it and Lose It program zeroes in on drunken drivers by taking a tough stance on impaired driving. Since its inception in 1993, law officers have conducted more than 26,000 checkpoints and charged more than 44,000 people with driving while impaired (DWI).
