Vienna Choir Boys to Perform in Cary
CARY, NC Tickets are on sale now for the only Triangle performance of the world-renowned Vienna Choir Boys--performing Friday, February 25th at the Cary Community Center in downtown Cary. Led by Austrian conductor Martin Schebesta, the Vienna Choir Boys will sing a virtuoso choral program including sacred music by Hassler, Mendelssohn, and Kratchowil as well as excerpts from operas by Purcell and Mozart, plus traditional waltzes and polkas from Viennas "waltz king," Johann Strauss II. Tickets for the 8 PM concert range from $10 to $25 and may be purchased at the Cary Community Center, the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, Jordan Hall Arts Center, and the main administrative office of Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources.
Founded by the Emperor Maximillian I in 1498, the Vienna Choir Boys have enchanted millions with their unique charm and exceptionally beautiful singing. Composed of twenty-four boys ranging in age from 10 to 14, each season a new choir of boys carries on the rich traditions of Viennas musical life, tracing its roots to such figures as Mozart, Hayden and Schubert.
