Local Tuskegee Airmen Featured At Annual Leadership Event

LOCAL TUSKEGEE AIRMEN FEATURED

AT ANNUAL LEADERSHIP EVENT

CARY, NC – A talk by several of the original Tuskegee Airmen is just one of the highlights of Cary’s 2nd Annual African-American Cultural Leadership Workshop--"A Legacy of Pride". This half-day celebration of the African-American presence in Cary will be held on Saturday, February 19th at the Cary Community Center from noon-4:00 PM in conjunction with Black History month.

Other seminars that day will include thoughts on community involvement and leadership by Brad Thompson, State Director for Senator John Edwards, as well as talks by Dr. Leroy S. Darkes and Laurie L. Fitts, MPA on male and female health issues. In addition, members of the national touring company Ballet d’Afrique Noire will conduct a workshop on African musical theatre. This all happens against a backdrop of exhibits, refreshments, and a Children’s Village.
