SHAKESPEARE ACADEMY AT JORDAN HALL
CARY, NC Shakespeare Academy, a series of theatrical workshops, will be presented at Jordan Hall Arts Center, 908 N. Harrison Avenue, in June. Joseph Henderson, a nationally renowned instructor who has directed Shakespearean productions at the Kennedy Center and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will lead a team of three professional artists who specialize in fencing, movement and mask making.
Sponsored by the Town of Cary, through its Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, Shakespeare Academy is designed for three different populations: a two-day workshop on June 5 & 6 for Seniors (age 55+); a three-day workshop for tracking students ages 11-16 on June 7-9; and a two-week workshop for ages 11-16 from June 12-23. Participants in the two-week workshop will perform in a production of Romeo & Juliet on Friday night, June 23, at the Sertoma Amphitheater in Bond Park. All workshops will be held from 9 AM 2 PM.
