Cary Announces Independence Day Activities

CARY ANNOUNCES INDEPENDENCE DAY ACTIVITIES

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary has planned another full day of Independence celebration activities sure to please everyone. All events are free and take place on July 4th at either Bond Park or Regency Park as follows:

BOND PARK

8 – 10 AM Parent/Child Fishing Tourney at Bond Park Lake; Registration begins at 7:30 at the boathouse

8:45 AM Sportsmanship Games: Bronco Baseball American East Division at Bond Field #7

9 AM Sportsmanship Games: Minor Softball Division at Bond Field #1

9:15 AM Sportsmanship Games: Pony Baseball Cactus Division at Bond Field #6 and Junior Softball Division at Bond Field #2

9:45 AM Sportsmanship Games: Colt Baseball Division at Bond Field #5

10 AM Skills Challenge Events (throwing, hitting, running): Ponytail Softball and Mustang Baseball at Bond Field #4

10:15 – 10:45 AM Casting Contest at Bond Park Lake

10:15 AM Sportsmanship Games: Fast Pitch Softball Division at Bond Field #1

10:50 – 11:15 AM Donut Eating Contest at Bond Park Lake Front

11:15 am Sportsmanship Games: Bronco American West Division Bond Field #7

11:30 AM– 12:30 PM Lakeside Olympics at Bond Park Lake Front

11:30 AM Sportsmanship Games: Pony Grapefruit Division at Bond Field #6

12:30 – 1 PM Watermelon Eating Contest at Bond Park Lake Front

1 – 1:15 PM Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest at Bond Park Lake Front

1:15 – 1:45 PM Water Balloon Toss at Bond Park Lake Front

1:15 PM Sportsmanship Games: Bronco National Baseball Division at Bond Field #7

2 – 3 PM Water Balloon Volleyball at Bond Park Lake Front

 

REGENCY PARK

4 PM Heritage Community Quilt at Regency Park Amphitheater: In celebration of Cary's Heritage Day, a community quilt was begun. At the Regency Park July 4th celebration, the Heritage Quilt will be available and all community members are invited to add their stitches. Make your mark on Cary's heritage.

5 PM Cary Town Band at Regency Park Amphitheater

7:30 PM Presentation of the Flag at Regency Park Amphitheater by the American Legion & VFW

North Carolina Symphony Concert at Regency Park Amphitheater

Selected program: George M Cohan Medley; Americana Suite; Sousa’s Liberty Bell March; Selections from Oklahoma!; God Bless America

9:15 PM Fireworks over Symphony Lake at Regency Park
