TOWN RECOGNIZED FOR CHARITABLE WORKS

CARY, NC – The Town of Cary has been given the Community Award of Excellence by Interact, a Cary organization that provides safety and support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Town was chosen this year for its ongoing "Helping Hands" program which each holiday season collects from Town staff new clothing, toys, and personal care items for hundreds of women and children who are calling Interact home.

Interact’s Community Service Award is presented annually to local businesses, churches, civic organizations, and others whose leadership demonstrates an outstanding commitment to helping Interact achieve its mission. The Cary Town Council will, at this week’s regular meeting, recognize key Town staff responsible for the annual Helping Hands program.
