PROMOTIONS CEREMONY MARKS MAJOR STEP IN CARY PD REORGANIZATION

CARY, NC -- Tonight’s Town Hall ceremony honoring the promotion of eleven Cary Police officers marks a significant realignment of the Cary Police Department designed to place more supervisory staff in the field and in closer contact with patrol officers. The 7:00 PM ceremony highlights the creation of eleven new positions through internal promotions as follows: nine new sergeants, one new lieutenant, and one new captain. This is the most personnel promoted at one time in the history of the 109-member Department.

"We are very proud of the individual accomplishments of each of these fine officers and equally excited about the benefits that this reorganization will have for our citizens and our community," said Cary Police Chief WJ Hunter. "By adding more sergeants, we "flatten out" our organizational structure and get decision-making down into the work force."
