OPERATION CARY RELEAF ‘98 PLANTINGS PLANNED FOR SUNDAY

An area women’s group will join with Town of Cary staff on Sunday to plant trees at the two new Habitat for Humanity homes at the intersection of North Academy Street and Johnson Street in Cary, NC. The event will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until done (approximately 2:30 PM), rain or shine.

This weekend’s event is part of the Town of Cary’s participation in the worldwide tree-planting project, Global ReLeaf 2000. Its goal is having 20 million trees planted by the year 2000. Operation Cary ReLeaf 1998, in association with American Forests’ Global ReLeaf 2000 project, seeks to educate citizens about the benefits of trees, and specifically the benefits of planting trees during the fall.
