CARY TO HOLD 22nd ANNUAL LAZY DAZE ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL

CARY, NC -- The 22nd annual Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival will be held in downtown Cary on Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Co-sponsored by the Cary Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, BB&T, The Cary News, and WPTF, the festival features some of the very best artists from all over the country. Over 400 artisans will be participating in this juried show which is one of the largest in the southeast. Proceeds from Lazy Daze are contributed to local non-profit organizations that work to make Cary a better place to live.

"Booths will line both Chatham and Academy Streets with something for the entire family," said Mary Barry, director of Cary’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources department. "Three stages will be set up in the downtown area with entertainment that includes magic shows, jazz ensembles, dancers and bluegrass."

To insure attendees a stress-free day, FREE transportation will be provided from Cary Towne Center to downtown throughout the day. Buses will run continuously from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Two areas of the mall have been designated for parking for the festival -- at Dillard’s and in the lower lot of Sears.

In the event of rain, the festival will be held on Sunday, August 23 from noon to 7:00 PM. This weather decision and subsequent announcement wills be made before 8:00 AM on Saturday if the event is delayed.
