PUBLIC INPUT
SESSIONS FOR
CARY BOND REFERENDUM
TO BEGIN TOMORROW NIGHT
CARY, NC -- The Town of Cary will host two public input sessions this week for the upcoming $149 million bond referendum currently scheduled for February, 1999. The sessions will be held on Wednesday & Thursday, October 28 & 29, at 7:00 PM in the Town Council Chambers located at 316 N. Academy Street. Citizens are encouraged to attend one of the two sessions to learn about and comment on the water, roadway, and parks projects that are currently proposed for inclusion in the referendum.
"Having public involvement in the bond process is very important to the Town," said Town Manager Bill Coleman. "While staff has compiled a list of projects appropriate for the referendum, we want to make sure that we have not missed any items that are critical to the members of our community."
The first hour of each public input session will be devoted to staff presentations about the projects currently proposed in each of the three referendum areas--water, roadways (streets, intersections, sidewalks), and parks. Following the presentations, staff will answer questions from the audience. At the conclusion of the question & answer period, the public will be invited to visit topic area stations where staff can discuss the bond issues one-on-one with citizens.
