CARY PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS RECOGNIZED BY AMERICAN LEGION

CARY -- A Cary police officer and a Cary firefighter were recognized by the Cary Town Council last night for being selected as outstanding public safety officers by the Cary American Legion. Officer Teresa Marrella and Engineer Bob McSorley were honored by the American Legion at a banquet Tuesday night for their outstanding contributions to their fields and to the Town over the last year.

"We are very proud of these two staff members," said Cary Town Manager Bill Coleman. "They’ve worked very hard, and the Town has benefited greatly from their service."

Marrella currently serves as the Police Department’s Accreditation Supervisor and has been with the Town for five years. McSorley is presently assigned to Fire Station 1 and joined the Town in 1992.
