HELP SOUGHT IN FIVE CARY CASES
CARY -- A reward of up to $2500 is being offered for help in solving each of the following five cases involving crimes against persons:
On Feb. 27,1998 at 11:30 AM, a maid at Motel Six on Buck Jones Road who, while cleaning a room, was grabbed by a man who tried to sexually assault her. The suspect is black, in his mid twenties, 6 tall, 180 to 200 lbs., medium build, clean shaven, and last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes and a black ball cap. He was seen leaving the area on a black mountain bicycle. (Composite sketch available on this case).
On Feb. 27, 1998 at 9:45 AM, the Casa Los Americas convenience store on Reed Street was robbed by four men, one of which displayed a black handgun in his waistband. The suspects are Hispanic, in their early to mid twenties, average height, weight, and build. They fled on foot and may live in the area.
On Feb. 28, 1998 at approximately 1:40 AM, a female resident of Misty Woods Apartments on Harlon Drive was attacked in her residence by a man dressed entirely in black and wearing a gray Halloween, possibly a skeleton, mask. The victim was cut by a knife during a struggle and robbery attempt. The suspect is white, 510", medium build, brown medium-length hair, 25 - 30 years of age.
On March 2, 1998 at approximately 8:35 PM, a woman was assaulted by a man as she was walking to her car at Harris Teeter in the Crescent Commons Shopping Center. It appears that the suspect followed her out of the store. He is 25 to 35 years of age, 5 9" tall, 160 to 170 lbs. He was last seen running around the back of the building wearing a turquoise sweater and blue jeans.
On March 3, 1998, an unknown man came in the back door of the Coyote Cafe on Ryan Road and robbed the manager at gun-point in the business

office. The suspect is black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 8" to 6 tall, 140 to 160 lbs. He was wearing a neoprene ski mask, blue jeans, and a dark, pullover sweater.
"Were hoping that people in the area of these crimes can help us solve them very quickly in order to prevent similar occurrences in our community," said Lt. Steve Lee of the Cary Police Department.
All of these cases are being actively investigated by the Cary Police Investigations Division. Cary Crimestoppers, in cooperation with the Town of Cary, will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification and apprehension of the individuals responsible for these crimes.
