Traffic Alert - Morrisville Parkway
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 8, 2011
This week, Town of Cary crews installed new speed limit signs on Morrisville Parkway between NC Highway 55 and Davis Drive, changing the school zone speed limit from 35 mph to 25 mph. The change in school zone speed is a result of a general ordinance amendment and policy amendment adopted by the Cary Town Council at its regular meeting on June 30, 2011. Advanced warning signs are placed informing drivers of the reduced school zone speed; drivers are encouraged to use caution and pay close attention to the new school zone speed limits signs. Fines for speeding in a school zone during school hours are $250 plus $170 in court fees. All other parts of Morrisville Parkway will remain 45 mph. Read the complete amendments at “Agenda and Minutes” at www.townofcary.org or call (919) 380-4204.
