It's Official: Cary Town Council Names New Arts Venue

March 21, 2011

Cary Arts Center is the official name for the downtown historic school building that is being repurposed and renovated to become Cary’s newest arts venue. The name was chosen at tonight’s Town Council work session. The Council’s deliberation included consideration of the over 190 suggestions submitted via an online survey on the Town’s website, The Cary News, and through direct communication with Town officials over the last month. The $13.1 million project is anticipated to be complete this spring with grand opening celebrations expected in August. Read the staff report with the exhaustive list of citizen suggestions, or for more about the project, visit Old Cary Elementary School Renovation at www.townofcary.org.
